Entagroup sponsors second trek along Great Wall of China

24th February 2010

Entagroup, the IT and communications group, will once again be sponsoring a gruelling 10 day charity trek along the Great Wall of China, this time in aid of Heart FM’s ‘Have a Heart’ campaign. Last year the group sponsored Janet Poole’s 10 day trek along the magnificent landmark in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and this year the baton has been handed to her husband Brian who will endure the trek in support of Heart FM’s ‘Have a Heart’ campaign. The campaign focuses on building a better future for the children living in our communities.

Brian will be joined on his travels by Dean Willingham from DPS Technology Group who are one of Entanet’s reseller partners. Commenting on his forthcoming adventure Brian said “I think this will be the biggest contribution I have ever made to a charity, and as a father I can’t think of a better cause than under privileged and disadvantaged children. I feel ready to take on the challenge now. I’ve been training hard and I’m confident that the challenge will be achievable. Doing all of these good things and getting to experience walking on and viewing one of the greatest feats of human endeavour, the Great Wall, is the icing on the cake. I’m so glad I put myself forward for it.”

Entagroup founder Jason Tsai added “We’re delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause once again and wish Brian, Dean and the rest of the team the very best of luck.” The sponsorship reflects Jason Tsai’s existing principle of supporting East-West relationships, demonstrated elsewhere by his establishment in 1998 of the Tsai Lau-Chi Charitable Foundation; and the Telford Chinese School which was opened in 1994 to provide students from a variety of backgrounds with an education in Chinese culture. The Tsai Lau-Chi Charitable Foundation supports the integration of British and Chinese cultures and creates a mutual understanding of their history, philosophy, arts and teachings. At the Telford Chinese School meanwhile, students can take classes in Mandarin Chinese, Tai Chi, Mulan Fan, Feng Shui, caligraphy, traditional and modern dance and music.

The 10 day trip will begin on 5th March 2010 and will include 6 days of trekking along the Great Wall, a day visiting Beijing and even a 400ft zip slide. The adventurers will return to the UK on 15th March. To find out more and to show your support visit http://www.chinatrek2010.com/trek-china-2010-itinerary.html.
